On the way they meet a collection of other animals who require his services: a squirrel who needs a satchel, a mother kangaroo who wants pockets to house her cubs, a lion who wants stripes so he can be seen when crossing the road, an elephant who wants a hat to protect him from the sun, and a penguin who wants a scarf to go home in. The animals are so pleased with the craftsman's services that the dog calls all his friends to commission him for more items.
